INTRODUCTION

Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad (Astro) is a Malaysian and ASEAN digital-first media and Malaysian No.1 online media, lifestyle company in the Digital, TV, Radio and eCommerce space. With 7.4 million unique visitors per month across the digital platforms of its entertainment and lifestyle brands. Astro holds the distinction of the ‘Gold’ award in the Media and Entertainment category at the Putra Brand Awards for 8 consecutive years from 2010. In addition the company also broadcasts over 180 channels, of which 56 are in HD, is a leading edge innovator with its introduction of HD, 3D and PVR – a first in Malaysia, and also Video On Demand, Astro GO, IPTV service and 11 Astro Radio Brands to its name.

WHAT WE DID

We were approached with a plan to revamp the Radio brand logo without the FM. Since radio these days are getting more interactive and social rather than just FM broadcasting. In order to stay true to their brand promise to put the fans first and create contents that resonated with the listeners we were asked to create logos that brings the impression that it’s a new multi-platform radio generation.
